I personally adore when I get writing prompts. And I bet a lot of people want to write but can’t find the idea that creates a spark. So I’m going to give you the beginning of a story, and it is my challenge to you to finish it, even if it’s real short. Here you go!
A sorrowful face appeared in the puddle under me: it was my own. Angry tears dripped off my eyelashes, blending with the pouring rain, rippling the surface of the water that was acting as my mirror. What a terrible day, and what a terrible storm. I trudged through the park, the dirt paths muddying my shoes that matched my pretty pink dress as my frizzy hair fell into my eyes. Oh, it should have ended differently.
“Dear one,” An ancient voice croaked, and my head whipped up to stare at an elderly woman sitting on the bench under a unusually large umbrella. “Why do you walk alone at this time of night, with that pitiful expression ruining your pretty face?”
What does our main girl respond? Who is the woman? Dare to finish it, and subscribe for more weekly writing prompts!
Till my pen meets the paper again,
Tatum
